Iwo Jima class Amphibious Assault Vessel New Orleans (LPH-11) being towed out of San Francisco Bay on her way to sunk off the Texas Gulf Coast. Disposal of ships of the Mothball Fleet has been the subject of a continuing controversy in the Bay Area due to environmental issues connected with lead in the peeling paint. Based on photographs taken by the artist during a sail in October 2006. Selected to be displayed in the Foss Maritime Company's 2009 calendar.
